As a part of cost-custting measure, Indian Airlines has invested in Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul facilities and is now ready to do 'C' checks for Boeing 777 aircrafts as well. This would mean, that  significant savings are on way,. Currently, the airlines sends its aircraft to Singapore Airlines (SIA Engineering) or Luffthansa Technik. This MRO facility could also be extended to third parties. Though it has partial clearance from FAA & EASA, full clearance is awaited.
